KINCARDINE MAKES ACCESSIBILITY ADVANCES

This month, the Municipality of Kincardine celebrated accessibility advances on three fronts. Sharon Woods, of the community's Accessibility Advisory Committee, says one hundred foot made-in-France Mobi-Mats allow access to the Lake Huron shoreline.

GODERICH DEVELOPMENT CHARGES TO INCREASE

The Town of Goderich has sharpened the pencil on its proposed Development Charge rates for the coming five-year period. Chief Administrative Officer Larry McCabe says taking one big project off the drawing board reduces the residential charge for all new properties coming on stream.

BUILDING ACTIVITY TAKES OFF IN GODERICH

Building activity in Goderich took off during the month of June. Chief Building Official Jason Dykstra reports 17 permits were issued during the month, for a dollar value of 2.046 million dollars. That brings the year-to-date value of permits approved to 5.43 million.

LARGE WHEAT FIELD FIRE NEAR PAISLEY

A large wheat field fire had numerous fire departments rushing to a farm near Paisley. Paisley, Tiverton, and Saugeen Shores fire departments are all attended the scene on Thursday (yesterday).

Beer, wine, and liquor lovers now don?t even have to leave their homes to enjoy LCBO products. The LCBO has launched a new expanded online shopping program which will allow customers to browse and purchase products online. The site LCBO.com was launched on Tuesday, July 26th at midnight.

KINCARDINE QUEEN STREET SHOCKER!

A potential shocker in downtown Kincardine, as a delivery truck knocked over a power pole, sending live wires careening onto an occupied vehicle. Wednesday afternoon's incident in the 900 block of Queen Street saw South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police cordon off the area.

KINCARDINE YOUTH COUNCIL A POSSIBILITY IN KINCARDINE

It seems the idea of a Kincardine Youth Council has won more than local support. Deputy Mayor Jacqueline Faubert tells myFM News the Ontario Government has accepted the Municipality for its pilot project for a plan to implement Youth Councils province-wide.
