WHEN THE RUBBER HITS THE ROAD

The Bluewater Summer Playhouse has been a Kincardine institution for nearly a quarter century, but its future going forward is in question. BWSP member Jennifer Webb says she will poll her board on Kincardine elected representatives' decision to require a 550 dollar a month payment toward clearing back rent owed at the Arts Centre beginning this September, but she personally is not impressed.

Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie believes this summer's BWSP operation will tell the tale.

Individual councillors are of two minds on what to do. Deputy Mayor Jacqueline Faubert says even as a losing proposition, the Arts are an asset. Councillor Laura Haight muses that forgiving back rent may not relieve BWSP's financial situation.
