MPP LISA THOMPSON ON LONG-TERM CARE INQUIRY
8/9/2017 6:15:53 AM

The Ontario government has appointed the Honourable Justice Eileen Gillese to lead an independent public inquiry into the policies, procedures, and oversight of long-term care homes.

The whole process is expected to be complete in 2019, which according to Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson is too long.

Thompson says that the government is failing seniors and families and they need to be more accountable.

She adds that the crutch of the Elizabeth Wettlaufer situation was that she was fired for giving the wrong medicine but her license was not suspended at that time, so Ontarians need a government committed to providing the proper oversight.
