A Saugeen Shores man is facing charges for a crash that took place on Highway 21 near Zion Road this past weekend.

Just after 10:30am on Saturday (August 5th, 2017) a Ford F-150 sideswiped a vehicle and failed to remain at the crash scene.

The suspect vehicle took off and continued southbound toward Goderich. The complainant continued to follow the suspect vehicle into Goderich until a Huron OPP officer intercepted and stopped the suspect vehicle.

Officers later learned that the damaged vehicle was sideswiped as the Ford pickup's driver attempted to complete a pass.

While speaking with the driver of the pickup the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking, and further tests confirmed that he was over the legal limit.

55-year-old Ronald McCan from Saugeen Shores has been charged with impaired driving and fleeing the scene. He also received an automatic 90-day driver's licence suspension and his vehicle was towed.
