BE PREPARED IN CASE OF A FIRE -- THIS WEEK IS FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
10/11/2017 6:43:49 AM

If a fire occurred in your home today, would you and your family know what to do?

That's the question being asked this week as part of Fire Prevention Week. This year's theme is 'Every second counts; plan two ways out!'

In the event of a fire, you and your family may only have seconds to escape as homes burn up to 8 times faster than 50 years ago.

It's recommended everyone in the home not only know what to do when the smoke alarm sounds, but actually practice your fire escape plan.

You and your family should have have a pre-determined meeting place, and know that once you are out of the home -- stay out.

Firefighters will be conducting their door to door smoke alarm campaign this month. Fire Prevention Week wraps up this Saturday.
