There are a lot of support mechanisms for young kids and their families, but teenagers can often go overlooked.

The Huron Safe Homes for Youth program sponsored by the United Way hopes to remedy that.

Executive Director Vicky Parent explains that this program is meant for vulnerable people about to enter adulthood.

Parent adds that the program offers temporary housing for youth who may have limited or absent parental figures, and provides guidance and counseling services to help them prepare for adulthood.

You can contact them at 1-800-361-1640 or visit www.huronsafehomes.com for more information.
