A teenager from London is facing impaired driving charges following an incident in Central Huron on February 3rd.

Just before 10 PM, Huron County Provincial Police were called to a home on Summerhill Road to prevent a possible impaired driver from leaving the residence.

Police learned that the guest had been drinking and was impaired, and attempted to drive away from the residence, but her friends blocked in her vehicle.

The young driver entered her vehicle anyways and tried to leave but she struck one of the vehicles blocking her in.

Police would arrive on the scene and located the young women in her vehicle and it was clear to officers she was impaired so she was arrested.

She was taken to an OPP detachment for breath tests which registered over the legal limit.

An 18-year-old has been charged with impaired driving and underage drinking.
