TIPS TO STAY SAFE IN THE SUN

The Huron County Health unit wants to remind you to enjoy the sun safely. Public Health Promoter with the local health unit Laura O'Rourke says children are at the most risk because they tend to spend more time outdoors. She adds that spending too much time in the sun is bad for your health.

    O'Rourke stresses the importance of applying sun screen often.

    O'Rourke says children are at the highest risk because they tend to spend more time outdoors when the sun's rays are the strongest. She says the UV index is usually the highest between 11 and 3.

    O'Rourke adds that SPF 30 or more is recommended for extended periods of time in the sun.
