SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IN EFFECT LOCALLY

There is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Hanover, Southern Grey County, Owen Sound, Northern Grey County. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Kincardine, Saugeen Shores, Hanover, Sauble Beach.
    
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts.
    
Severe thunderstorms could develop this afternoon as a cold front moves through. The main threat is damaging wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h.
    
Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
    
Hail and locally heavy rain are also possible. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
