HEALTH UNIT HELPING CLEAN UP GODERICH BEACH AFTER CANADA DAY
7/6/2018 7:32:57 AM

Goderich beaches will look a whole lot nicer after a cleanup on Friday. The Huron County Health Unit is teaming up with the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation to clean up Goderich beaches following the long weekend. The groups along with volunteers will be paying special attention to cigarette butts and cigarette litter. Public Health Promoter Jacquie Uprichard says that there have been so many discarded cigarette butts that it's starting to become a problem.

All the cigarette butts will be counted and then properly recycled. Anyone looking to help clean the beaches is asked to contact the Huron County Health Unit or just show up at the Rotery Cove Beach between 3 PM and 7 PM.
