Standing up to American Greed. That's how some striking workers in Goderich are looking at it. This weekend striking workers at the Goderich salt mine were faced with a court order to remove a blockade set up to deter replacement workers. Now entering the 11th week of the Compass Minerals strike the community is starting to rally behind the workers. Shortly after the blockade was removed 15 tractors drove up on the roadway to help hold the line of support. Compass Minerals employees about 350 unionized workers who have been on strike since April 27th. Posts online from Unifor show Compass Minerals putting workers at risk by moving supplies via conoe to the salt mine to avoid the picket line. Reports say Unifor and Compass Minerals may return to negotiations this week.
