FIRE BAN ISSUED FOR SEVERAL LOCAL COMMUNITIES
7/9/2018 2:47:08 PM

There is an open air fire ban in the municipalities of Huron-Kinloss, Saugeen Shores, and Kincardine. This is due to the lack of rainfall and the forecasted hot and dry conditions.

The area in Huron-Kinloss protected by the Lucknow Fire Department is under a total fire ban. Camp fires and open-air burning are not allowed.

Kincardine, Saugeen Shores and the area of Huron-Kinloss protected by the Ripley-Huron Fire Department are restricting agricultural burns, brush pile burns and any burn that is greater than one metre in diameter.

Residents are allowed to have recreational fires in outdoor fireplaces, chimineas, and camp fires.

Municipal bylaws have set fines for those in violation of the ban. If you have any questions regarding the open-air fire ban, please contact your local fire department.
