UPDATE ON VANASTRA MAN FACING MURDER CHARGES
7/12/2018 7:09:06 AM

As myFM reported to you 29-year-old Corey Volland will have his next court appearance in August. According to a London Free Press report, Volland's lawyer Scott Cowan commented about seeking bail for his client. In an interview with myFM Corey Volland's lawyer, Scott Cowan said (QUOTE) "bail in murder cases is complex. We've only just now received the police file, and decisions about bail in a small community have to take into account the needs of the community, the witnesses, and the deceases, family." Cowan would continue to say (QUOTE) "the case is going at a reasonable pace given the nature of the case, normally you would get disclosure after 3 to 4 weeks in a normal criminal case, for it to be 2 months in a homicide is not unusual at all." myFM also learned that Volland is currently in jail in London at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre. The next appearance for the Vanastra man will be August 13th, and myFM will provide you with more details when they become available.
