Thanks to a $3,000 donation from The Power Workers' Union (PWU), teams of area children will soon be able to compete in their very own Junior Firefighter Challenge. A miniature obstacle course modelled after the popular Bruce Power Fire Fit course will become the latest addition to the Saugeen Shores Jr. Fire and Public Education Program. The course will be designed for children between the ages of 9 and 11 who sign up for the six-week educational program run each year by volunteer firefighters. It will be challenging, but portable so it can be set up at community events such as fall fairs and school fundraisers.    Fire prevention officer, Rob Atkinson, says this is a great way for kids to learn about fire safety since it's fun, and hands-on.
