POOR ICE QUALITY CAUSES HOCKEY TEAMS TO CANCEL GAMES IN GODERICH
9/11/2018 7:13:54 AM

Hockey season in Goderich has some residents worried this year. The Maitland Recreation Centre is the only ice rink to use in the town now following the closure of the Memorial Arena. Goderich CAO Larry McCabe says residents will have to work around a bit of a tighter schedule.

McCabe says the ice system at the Maitland Recreation Centre is struggling to keep up with the warm weather.

Last week ice times were cancelled for the Junior C hockey team. McCabe says the cooler weather will likely help keep the ice frozen and in good condition.
