NEW COUNTY COUNCIL BUILDING IN THE WORKS FOR GODERICH
9/12/2018 7:17:13 AM

The former Victoria Public School property could host a new county council building. Goderich council is supporting the construction of a new administration building for Huron County council. CAO Larry McCabe says this project makes sense because Goderich already hosts county council as it is.

McCabe says the proposal still has to go before county council.

Right now staff use the council chambers in the court house on the square. Town council approved using a section of land on the former Victoria Public School property for construction with a vote of 6-0 in Monday's meeting. McCabe says it's clear that council supports this decision.

The Goderich CAO adds there's several benefits of having an administration building including centralizing services for the county.
