Erosion on the North Bank of the Maitland River is starting to impact the local walking trail.
Chair of the Menesetung Bridge Association, Grant Dawson, has asked Goderich council to step in and help out before the damage is irreversible. He says they are looking for funding to hire a specialist to analyze the area.

Dawson says when the river changed directions it started to cut into the loose gravel, destabilizing the foundation.
He adds that if nothing is done in the next decade, the rail trail could be lost.
