GREY BRUCE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN LOW INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS

A new resource in Grey Bruce is exploring community engagement in low income neighborhoods. Spotlight on Grey Bruce: Community Building for Families highlights collaborative efforts and achievements as part of the community engagement process. Public health nurse, Lisa Alguire, says they started with 1 rent controlled neighborhood in 2010, and has now grown to 3.

    She adds it's important to moniker community engagement in these neighborhoods, because families experience better health levels in welcoming communities. Collaborative committees are working on plans to expand in the future.
