CRIME PREVENTION WEEK
11/5/2018 10:20:39 AM

Crime Prevention Week takes places November 4th to the 10th.

Part of the week will see officers give out tickets to youth who exhibit good behaviour as part of Operation Heat.

Operation Heat helps aid in building relationships with youth in the community by giving out the tickets for hot beverages to Circle K Convenience Stores across the province.

Police say that a youth may receive one of the positive tickets for things such as performing a good deed, being kind to others, participating in community activities, demonstrating community pride, deterring crime, using school crossing rules and more.

The theme for this year's Crime Prevention Week is Crime Prevention: Help Us Help You.

The theme emphasizes the importance of police working with community partners and the public to develop programs and strategies to combat crime and deal with complex social issues.
