Huron County OPP and the Domestic Assault Review Team (DART) are inviting you to the annual National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women ceremony.
It’s taking place December 6, at 10:00 a.m. in Goderich at the Courthouse Square.
Thursday marks the 29th anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women killed at the l’École Polytechnique de Montréal.
December 6th also represents an opportunity to reflect upon the fact that women in Canada, and around the world, continue to face violence every day.
To raise further community awareness, numerous government buildings, including municipal offices within Huron County will have their flags lowered to half-mast.
Following the choir performances and the laying of fourteen red roses attendees are invited afterwards to view a special display set up inside the Huron County Courthouse.
