Central Huron has become the latest municipality to tell the provincial government they’re all for having a cannabis store in their area.
Mayor Jim Ginn explained council’s decision.
Ginn said they don’t expect to have a store in the area anytime soon, certainly not within the first batch of licenses the government is rolling out. They opted in to secure the funding which comes with declaring interest for a store.
He said they’d have to look at possible store locations to make sure they would meet the requirements and regulations set by the province for a store, such as security and distances from local schools.
